蘇姓司機中午駕駛公車行經中正北路，轉進新行街後，疑似心肌梗塞造成身體不適，他放慢車速後，整個人趴在方向盤上，公車則擦撞停在路旁的2輛小客車。
消防人員獲報，趕到現場搶救，但蘇姓司機已無意識，送醫途中沿路CPR救援。
居民說，當時聽到擦撞聲，跑出來看，見到公車撞壞門口花盆，司機趴在方向盤上動也不動，趕緊報案，總共擦撞2台車，其他車輛則受到擠壓，共5台車受損。
當時車上沒有乘客，沒釀成更大災禍，但司機送醫後，仍不幸身亡。
