工務局第一工務大隊長林志穎表示，該路段為自來水公司地下老舊管線汰換工程的預定路段，如果工務局先行重鋪路面，屆時再開挖，不僅浪費材料也嚴重擾民。唐當場致電給自來水公司第六處處長，要求儘快汰換管線，還給居民平穩又安靜的道路。
另外，西門路四段7巷84弄道路在上個月大雨過後，出現路面下陷、柏油鬆軟的情況造成多名路人跌倒，研判後發現是水利局污水下水道工程回填不實導致。對此，水利局承諾，9月底前會要求廠商重鋪路面。
