高雄一名51歲蔡姓男子日前到屏東縣新園鄉鹽埔漁港釣魚，但他為了靠近水面，疑似爬到消波塊上，結果不幸遭到海浪沖倒，造成左小腿開放性骨折，後經其他釣客發現後通報，送往東港安泰醫院急救。
屏東縣政府東港消防分隊獲報後趕抵現場，並發現蔡男人在堤防外下方1.5公尺的消波塊上待援，其右小腿嚴重骨折，鮮血直流，表情相當痛苦，但高低差也造成救援困難，最後出動7人，先將蔡男包紮固定後用搬運毯將他抬回堤防送醫。
蔡男自稱，當時他人站在消波塊上垂釣，突然站不穩摔倒，撞擊消波塊，再加上身體重量一壓，才會不幸嚴重骨折。
