〔記者侯承旭／屏東報導〕屏東縣人口跌勢不止，至去年底連續下跌17年，今年上半年又減少了3572人。
根據屏東縣政府民政處統計，今年6月底屏東縣的總人口數為82萬1834人，其中男性人口41萬9526人、女性人口40萬2308人。
累計今年1月至6月，屏東縣人口又減少了3572人，其中男性人口少了2008人、女性人口少了1564人。
屏東縣人口於1997年最高峰，當時全縣共91.3萬人，從2002年起的90.6萬人開始逐年減少，至去年已經連續下跌17年，今年若趨勢不變，可能創下連跌18年的紀錄。
屏東縣33個鄉鎮市中，已有30個鄉鎮市提出生育補助，每胎獎勵金額從3000元至3萬元不等，但人口仍跌跌不休。
