屏東恆春半島近期正值字紋弓蟹寶寶（大眼幼蟲）從海口回溯陸地季節，滿州鄉港口村生態解說員古清芳等人近日發現，823豪雨及「山竹」颱風接連帶來豐沛雨水後，港口溪畔出現超過10萬隻字紋弓蟹寶寶大量回溯，小螃蟹密密麻麻爬行的生態奇景，吸引生態愛好者爭睹拍攝。
當地居民俗稱「扁蟹」的字紋弓蟹，是恆春半島常見陸蟹種類，但下海產卵時間點一直是學界的謎團，墾管處提醒民眾，觀賞時避免過近侵擾陸蟹，也希望生態奇景喚起各界重視環境保護。
