對此，有網友爆料：「他的交通工具是一台電動車，然後把輪椅掛在後面，可以沿路向店家借插座充電，從嘉義騎到墾丁，曾經賣過充電器給他，口袋隨便一掏起碼有5萬（目測）整疊千千鈔。」另據《自由》報導，有眼尖鎮民捕捉到，「輪椅哥」曾坐在咖啡廳吹冷氣，悠閒地喝著咖啡，更拿出蘋果筆電出來使用，呼籲民眾千萬別讓愛心遭濫用！

對此，潮州警方指出，「輪椅哥」近日頻繁在潮州出沒，但卻是設籍在高雄的楊姓男子，並未領取身心障礙手冊，雙腳健全但卻以輪椅代步，而被推倒機車的車主及女騎士均未提出告訴，提醒民眾若遇上強迫推銷行為，應立即報警，將依違反社會秩序維護法裁罰或以強制罪嫌送辦。
