13日上午10時左右，位於高雄市仁武區烏林里山坡旁的民宅出現「不速之客」，一隻約20公斤的野生鹿跑進社區，民眾初以為是野狗，開門一看嚇到傻眼。鹿隻誤闖民宅不久，疑似自撞鐵門，傷重不治，民眾趕緊通報環保局到場處理。

目擊黃姓民眾說：「住宅區旁為高雄觀音山丘陵區域，野生動物不少，但有野生鹿跑來家裡還是頭一次碰上，真的很特別！好奇的是，這麼多間民宅，怎麼特別選我家，真的很特別。」高雄市環保局仁武清潔隊獲報後，到場協助民眾將鹿隻遺體帶回分隊處理。
專家表示，台灣地區曾是野生梅花鹿的地盤，滿山遍野都可見鹿群在草原上吃草，卻因人為獵捕導致野生梅花鹿漸滅絕。初步判斷，該隻為母鹿，重約20多公斤，疑似從山坡地滑落社區圍牆後，因無法返回受到驚嚇，進入民宅後自撞鐵門後傷重不治。
