湖內警分局昨公布今年一至八月車禍件數，總計有一千四百七十五件，傷亡人數二千零三人，其中，A1（死亡）車禍十二件、有十二人死亡。
至於十大易肇事路口及車禍件數排名，以路竹區中山路、國昌路口廿一件居冠，所幸都是A2（受傷）事故；第二名為路竹區中山南路、北嶺二路口十四件，第三名路竹區中山南路、民主路口十件，第四名路竹區中山路、忠孝路口十件 。
第五至九名分別為路竹區中山路、保民路口，中山路、自由路口，中山路、中正路口，湖內區中山路一段、民生街口及阿蓮區中山路、忠孝路口，均為八件，第十名為茄萣區茄萣路、港東街口。
湖內警分局長陳杏結表示，省道車流多、車速快，駕駛人貪一時之快闖紅燈，轉彎車搶快未禮讓直行車或行人先行，起駛前未讓行進中車輛或行人優先通行，都是車禍肇事主因。
