〔記者洪定宏／高雄報導〕高雄最南端小漁港、高雄市林園區汕尾漁港為典型河口港，容易淤積，導致大型漁筏必須暫泊中芸漁港，因此政府長年編列經費疏浚、擴大漁筏泊區，近年更與汕尾國小、林園區漁會合作，推廣風帆運動，增加漁村觀光資源。
海洋局表示，林園區汕尾漁港位於高屏溪口右岸，為典型河口港，易受河川輸砂量、河口波浪交互作用，以及颱風大量雨水沖刷作用，經常造成港口及航道淤積，迫使大型漁筏暫時移泊中芸漁港，導致中芸漁港擁擠。
因此，海洋局爭取經費興建中芸漁港漁筏泊區，完工後可增加576公尺的碼頭，讓汕尾漁港停靠89艘船隻。
另外，除持續爭取經費整修汕尾漁港，並清除淤沙，也配合海洋教育，與汕尾國小、林園區漁會推廣風帆運動，增加漁村觀光資源，提供民眾遊憩休閒場所。
