〔記者洪定宏／高雄報導〕高雄市林園區驚傳死亡火警！劉姓男子與父母住在透天厝，劉母昨晚發現一樓冒出火光，衝到三樓通知兒子，再從頂樓前往鄰居家求救而逃出，但劉男仍受困屋內，被消防隊發現時，他倒在樓梯間已無意識，送醫搶救仍宣告不治。
消防局昨晚約9點38分接獲報案，指林園區鳳林路三段某透天厝發生火警，且有人受困，調派多個分隊前往搶救，消防員破門而入，逐層搜索，赫見46歲劉男疑似被濃煙嗆昏，倒趴在三樓往四樓的樓梯間，但為時已晚；火警原因初步懷疑電線走火，但有待鑑定。
警方指出，昨晚劉父不在家，在二樓房間的劉母聞到濃重煙味，走道樓梯間查看，赫見一樓擺放電視位置冒出熊熊火光，她急奔至三樓通知兒子，然後從頂樓前往隔壁鄰居求救而逃出，無奈劉男來不及，釀成悲劇。
