［記者黃旭磊／高雄報導］苓雅區出現今年首例本土日本腦炎確診病例，60多歲男性患者昏迷仍在治療，患者5月1日發燒並出現抽蓄、意識不清症狀，住院後，4日持續發燒轉院治療並通報疑似日本腦炎症狀，今天（17日）經疾病管制署確定感染日本腦炎，目前仍在加護病房治療，退燒但意識昏迷。
高雄市疾病管制處技正潘炤穎說，患者住苓雅區，平日至衛武營國家藝術文化中心園區運動，有時到鳳山區鳳凰山爬山、大寮區拷潭里參加活動，確認病例後，立即派員至大寮2處豬舍，鳳山1處牧場及肉品市場消毒，並於18處水稻田查獲三斑家蚊幼蟲。
疾管單位指出，每年5至10月為日本腦炎流行季節，傳染病媒蚊主要孳生於水稻田、池塘及灌溉溝渠等處，吸血高峰在黃昏與黎明時段，呼籲民眾減少這段時間外出。
