〔記者黃佳琳／高雄報導〕八八水災後中斷迄今的南橫公路，目前仍在進行修建工程，昨晚花蓮強震後，工程人員一早趕上山巡查各路段情形，所幸經工程人員回報，各路段未有重大落石崩塌意外傳出，目前正在進行的工程也沒有受地震影響。
甲仙工務段長王慶雄表示，南橫公路昨晚的震度大約2至3級，震度不算太大，因此沒有造成重大落石崩塌意外傳出，對於在建工程沒有影響，不過地震後山區土石鬆動，可能出現落石情形，呼籲民眾若上山時應小心注意道路狀況，非必要時也暫勿上山。
