〔記者黃建華／高雄報導〕高雄市鼓山區鼓山區同盟路口與九如三路交叉路口，昨深夜10點許發生一起自小客車撞上安全島，汽車瞬間起火，所幸劉姓女駕駛及早逃離，並未釀成傷亡。
據消防局指出，49歲的劉姓女駕駛向警消表示，他所駕駛的汽車不上撞上安全島後就開始冒煙，她趕緊離開車子報案，沒多久火勢就變大。
消防局中華消防隊獲報，出動2車7人抵達時，起火的車子火勢一度猛烈，消防人員先後使用水線及滅火器才撲滅火勢。
這起自撞安全島的事故原因，正由轄區警方調查中。
