檢方起訴指出，有公共危險前科的李姓男子不知悔改，今年7月23日清晨6點在大寮區住處與父母吵架，竟前往附近加油站購買一桶汽油，潑灑在二樓地板與及木質牆壁上點燃縱火，企圖燒毀李嫌父母所住的房子，幸虧李父見狀，及時以棉被撲滅火勢，未造成建築物主體結構毀損，李父並報警，林園警分局員警趕抵逮捕李男並查扣縱火的汽油桶，將他移送高雄地檢署。
李男遭檢方聲押獲准，檢方今偵結將李男依縱火燒建築物未遂罪嫌起訴。
