〔記者黃建華／高雄報導〕高雄市大寮區一間廟宇今年1月間傳出火災，所幸及時撲滅，僅廟內男廁廁所垃圾桶、牆壁、天花板被燒毀，警方獲報，查出借用廁所的余姓男子丟棄未熄火的菸蒂在垃圾桶釀災，高雄地檢署近日將他依放火燒毀住宅以外之物罪嫌起訴。
檢方起訴指出，去年6月才出獄的余姓男子，今年1月31日下午到大寮某間廟宇借用廁所，為了掩蓋臭味，余男如廁時抽菸，離去時未確認菸蒂是否有熄滅就丟入垃圾桶，不慎引燃火災，燒毀廁所牆壁、天花板、門與化糞池。
警方獲報查出余男涉案，余男坦承上廁所後將未確認是否熄滅的菸蒂丟入垃圾桶，檢方因此將他依放火燒毀住宅以外之物罪嫌起訴。
