竹崎鄉代理鄉長郭良江說，此時正值園內花旗木（泰國櫻花）盛開，在紅色吊橋襯托下，花團錦簇景象美不勝收，倘若2座橋梁同時封閉施工，遊客無法上橋看景，恐生怨言，經與縣府水利處協調，敲定2座橋輪流施工。
郭良江說，行千吊橋已關閉出入口，開始動工改善，預計6月15日完工開放，再封閉另一座弘景橋施工；「水環境計畫」首期工程將改善橋梁設備及加強植栽綠美化，增加景觀亮點，經費1600餘萬元。
