嘉義縣市23日晚間下起豪大雨，適逢潮汐漲潮加上雨勢過大多處釀災。民雄地下道凌晨1點多整個大淹水，一度傳出人車受困，警消趕到現場後除了拉起封鎖線，也嘗試冒險下水搜救，但並無斬獲，由於大雨下不停淹水遲遲無法退去，警消人員除了持續搜救也保持現場警戒。

今天上午7點多，連接嘉義市及水上鄉永欽橋也傳出民眾不顧生命安全，硬將車開過淹水區域，目前動彈不得人車受困，警消人員獲報已趕往現場進行搶救，尚無傷亡傳出。

布袋地區則傳出駕訓班車輛來不及移動到高處，現場教練車全數泡水，初步估算大約20餘台遭受水淹。
