〔記者林宜樟／嘉義報導〕大學繁星推薦入學放榜，位於嘉義縣的國立東石高中，67位學生申請54位錄取，再創新高；學測成績69級分的柯炳薰父母從事養殖漁業，錄取台灣大學生物環境系統工程學系，他感恩的說，從小除了學校外能夠擁有的教育資源不多，學校有夜間輔導學習，安排老師指導，讓他省下不少補習費用及時間。
東石高中在繁星推薦入學中學生考上台大、成大、清大、交大、政大、北師大、中山、中正、中興及中央等頂尖大學共21位，另有中山、高醫及中國醫學大學共3位學生上榜；65級分蔡旭陽錄取交大光電工程學系，63級分謝沛穎錄取清大資訊工程學系，翁嘉懌錄取成大歷史系，郭信廷錄取政大資訊科學系。
東石高中校長楊長鉿說，學校塑造優質學習環境，老師們不分晝夜，犧牲假期認真指導學生，平日則舉辦生命教育體驗活動和藝文講座，讓學校能夠朝全人教育發展。
