〔記者曾迺強／嘉義報導〕受強烈冷氣團來襲影響，交通部公路總局研判，台18線（阿里山公路）海拔2千公尺以上路段，可能下雪或路面結冰，危及用路人安全，今晚8點增派保全人員不定時巡視路面，目前沒有預警性封閉措施。
公路總局第五區養護工程處阿里山工務段長黃秋揚受訪說，依中央氣象局資料顯示，4日起華南雲帶東移，水氣增加，阿里山區溫度若降至0度以下，台18線76.1公里（十字路段）的上行銜接南投縣台21線的高山路段路面，屆時易結冰。
第五區養護工程處今晚8點增派6名保全人員進駐76.1至87.9公里（森林遊樂區大門前）的3處崗哨，同時備妥裝載機與剷雪設備，若有雪況或接獲民眾通報，將視天候與道路狀況啟動交通管制，同時要求用路人備妥雪鍊上山。
