〔記者丁偉杰／嘉市報導〕嘉義市19日晚間7點40分發生當街持刀砍人案件，蔡姓男子遭劉姓男子持西瓜刀追殺砍傷，砍人的劉男逞凶後逃逸，案發後，警方全力追緝，劉男於20日凌晨零時30分向警方投案，目前正偵訊中。
這起兇殺案事發地點在嘉義市吳鳳南路軍輝橋附近，蔡男疑被劉男追殺躲進一間店家求援，蔡身中多刀，左肩1處及右手臂2處傷口深可見骨，背部也有1處明顯刀傷，意識尚清楚，緊急送往聖馬爾定醫院救治，暫無生命危險。
警方調查，劉男（22歲，有竊盜、毒品傷害等前科）、蔡男（20歲）先前因傷害案件互有嫌隙，雙方因而結下樑子。
劉男供稱，之前他被蔡男拿刀砍過，對蔡懷恨在心，案發後，已將行兇的西瓜刀丟棄。警方說，今天白天將帶劉男前往丟棄處找出兇刀，訊後依殺人未遂罪嫌將劉男移送嘉義地檢署。
