〔記者丁偉杰／嘉義報導〕嘉義市吳鳳南路軍輝橋附近今晚近8點發生當街持刀砍人案件，警方調查，行兇男子與被害男子先前因傷害案件互有嫌隙，仇人見面分外眼紅，被害男子遭行兇男子持刀砍傷，送醫急救開刀，暫無生命危險，而行兇男子案發後逃逸，警方已鎖定嫌犯追緝中。
事發後，網路上開始流傳「嘉義市吳鳳南路附近發生兇殺案，犯人正在逃逸 嘉義朋友沒事不要亂跑」截圖，照片中，地面上血跡斑斑。記者向警方查證，證實確有此事，警方說，2名男子早有嫌隙，並非隨機傷人事件，正全力緝凶。
而嘉義市消防局第2分隊獲報後，出動救護人車趕到現場發現，被害男子年約20歲，疑被追殺躲進一間店家求援，他身中多刀，左肩1處及右手臂2處傷口深可見骨，背部也有1處明顯刀傷，意識尚清楚，經緊急送往聖馬爾定醫院救治，暫無生命危險。
