〔記者王善嬿／嘉市報導〕嘉義市政府獲公路總局補助興建的先期交通轉運中心，因前、後棟空間使用率低及嘉義縣公車處市區公車遲未進駐，遭監察院糾正，經縣、市府協調，縣公車處營運的市區公車（一、七、六十六路），六月起進駐轉運中心，國道客運、台鐵及高鐵BRT等旅客約一萬五千人可望受惠。
縣公車處長郭良江表示，目前六十六路與七路的發車站及一路的候車站，在嘉市博愛路與中興路口，距離轉運中心數百公尺。
市府交通處交通行政科長張瓊璽說，這三條市區公車每天共一○二班次，將使用轉運中心前棟第十三月台，六十六路和七路公車自轉運中心發車，一路公車自台中榮總嘉義分院發車，中間停靠轉運中心，公車時刻表更新、指引告示牌等，六月前會設置。
張瓊璽表示，目前轉運中心每天進出車班假日五百廿班次、平日四百五十班次，旅客日平均八千多人次，台鐵自後站進出每天六千零卅九人次。
