〔記者王善嬿／嘉市報導〕嘉義市政府拚觀光，但市議員李忠曆昨在議會定期會市政總質詢時，批評市區十七條限制性道路，限制汽車單向、機車雙向行駛，民權路更有限制性道路和雙向通行兩種制度，加上鬧區停車空間不足，造成交通混亂，不利發展觀光，他主張廢除限制性道路，研擬純粹單行道或恢復雙向通行；對此，市長黃敏惠受訪時表態，「只要大家有共識，她就全力推動。」
黃敏惠在議會答詢時說，市區限制性道路要改成汽、機車都單向行駛的單行道，還是恢復雙向行駛，都須研擬配套措施，以行人、行車安全為考量。
除了李忠曆，議員蔡文旭、凌子楚、王美惠及陳家平等人均曾提案要求市府檢討廢除限制性道路，或改善交通亂象；市府交通處長鄭君健說，將鼓勵民間業者開闢路外停車場，改善停車位不足問題，並推動建置電動巴士、接駁車等，加強大眾運輸系統。
