為淨化青少年成長環境、防制網路簽賭侵入校園及網路選舉賭盤影響年底選舉結果。桃園市政府警察局刑事警察大隊報請臺灣桃園地方檢察署闕股檢察官指揮，會同桃園、中壢、平鎮、八德、蘆竹等警分局警力全力掃蕩網路簽賭。
桃園警方表示，於近日在轄內執行搜索掃蕩，共查獲曾姓主嫌等10人涉嫌經營網路賭博，現場並查扣電腦主機23台、筆記型電腦兩台、行動電話8支、現金賭資新臺幣99萬4000元等物，初步統計賭注金額達新臺幣10億元。相關犯嫌經訊後坦承不諱，移送臺灣桃園地方檢察署偵辦。
警方12日呼籲社會大眾，「賭博」是犯罪淵藪，傾家蕩產案例時有所聞且易衍生其他治安事故，尤以青少年易因同儕影響而從事網路簽賭等不法行為，本局將持續加強掃蕩賭博犯罪以維護社會秩序，並向上溯源追緝幕後首腦，以展現打擊犯罪之決心。
