警方說，劉男有傷害、槍砲及竊盜等多項前科，數月前因毒品案被台中市警方查緝，但未查獲槍械。劉男獲交保後卻招搖的透過通訊軟體傳出槍枝照片，向朋友炫耀持有情報人員專用的「名片槍」 ，照片因此傳了開來。
楊梅警方經多日追查，發現照片源頭來自劉男，向桃園地方法院聲請搜索票，昨上午前往劉男住處搜索，果然查獲他持有名片手槍1把、子彈2發及安非他命0.62克與吸食器等。
警方訊問時，劉男稱槍枝與子彈都是從網路上以2800元購買的「玩具槍」，不清楚是否具有殺傷力，訊後被依違反槍砲彈藥刀械管制條例及毒品危害防制條例罪嫌移送桃園地檢署偵辦。
