呂秀蓮今天下午透露有意參選台北市長，她也坦言還沒有與早已宣布要參選的姚文智當面談，但她自認與姚有非常好的關係，會好好溝通協調。據《Ettoday》報導，姚文智稍早則表明，如果呂秀蓮要參選也很好，他認為民進黨內在首都不怯戰。姚文智希望大家都站出來，再選一個人來代表民進黨，然後不再和現任台北市長柯文哲合作。
呂秀蓮今天表示，4年前就有參選的願望，因為台北市是她第二個故鄉，她已為桃園服務過，想來台北市。不過4年前民進黨全力支持柯文哲，她也就尊重，而現在民進黨很少人認為還要讓柯P，所以她當仁不讓。
