桃園市大園區良鑫紙器公司2日中午發生火警，因火災現場堆放大量紙類製品，火勢相當猛烈，火速到場搶救的警消記取敬鵬工業平鎮廠大火，造成5名警消殉職重大工安意外，於救火時格外謹慎，於確定廠內人員完全疏散後，救火人員僅在廠房外搶救、灌水，幸很快撲滅，無人傷亡，起火原因仍待查。
桃園市消防局指出，位於大園區南港里許厝港的良鑫紙器公司廠房，是在2日中午11時54分發生火警，起火的廠房為2層樓RC建築，樓頂則是鐵皮建築，因廠房內堆放大量紙類製品，消防人員獲報到場時，廠內火勢已經一發不可收拾。
由於敬鵬工業平鎮廠的殘火才剛處理完全，且殉職的警消疑是在進入火場被被壓制在重型機械下，無法自火場脫身。因此，前往救火的警消於獲悉人員都已經疏散後，隨即按照標準流程，在廠房外拉起防火線，並對廠內不斷灌水降溫，火勢於下午1時30分獲得控制，總計出動消防車26輛、救護車2輛、消防人員63名，義消人員7名。
