警方見狀立即鳴笛追趕，一路上熱心民眾也協助警方指出犯嫌逃逸路線，直至中興橋上，犯嫌自知逃不過警方追緝，才終於氣餒的停下，接受警方攔檢盤查。
警方將犯嫌制伏，沿路找尋對方丟棄物品，當場在一枚挖空的乾電池內查獲藏有毒品海洛因3小包及安非他命吸食器一組。
詢據王嫌供稱毒品是透過社群網站向網友以每一包3.6公克5000元購得，王嫌坦承持有吸食不諱，全案訊問後依毒品罪移送台北地檢署偵辦。
