被喻為「台灣建築界傳奇」的王大閎，去年5月28日辭世。他出生中國北京，在上海和蘇州長大，成長歷程對他日後建築設計融合庭園建築的構思有著重要影響，作品融合西式現代主義與中式建築。
王大閎在台北市的建築作品共有18棟列冊，王寵惠墓園、張群故居、國父紀念館、台大法學院圖書館、草山御賓館其中一間等5處為古蹟；松山機場第一航廈、外交部辦公大樓、亞洲水泥大樓、虹廬等4處為歷史建築；林語堂故居為紀念建築，其中僅虹廬為私宅。（記者楊心慧）
