〔記者鄭景議／台北報導〕美國在台協會一名埃及籍建築師穆罕默德，上週三將自己的高檔折疊腳踏車，停放在AIT內湖新館旁停車場，卻遭宵小竊取，穆罕默德報警後，內湖警方在12小時內幫他找回，讓他大為感動台灣警方的效率。
警方獲報後調閱監視器，發現一名曾姓男子，本將車停在腳踏車旁，要將自己車開走時，順手將腳踏車搬到自己後座，在迅速驅車離開。
警方調查，51歲的曾男有竊盜前科，在警方上門找上他時，曾男訝異於警方這麼快就找上門，還辯稱「撿到該車、才剛下班回到家，正要將腳踏車送交警方」；但警方出示偷車畫面，曾男無法辯駁，訊後依竊盜罪將他移送士林地檢署偵辦。
穆罕默德則表示，該台腳踏車是台灣製的TEK，品質高檔價格公道，當初買車時花了6000元，是他的愛車，時常騎車上下班，台灣警方在報案後能不到半天就尋回，這樣的效率真的厲害。
