交通局局長王聲威表示，中和地區停車需求殷切，交通局尋找市區無闢建計畫或尚未開發的公有土地，發現景平路與成功路交叉口，有一處財政部國有財產署管理的機關用地，位於興建中的捷運環狀線秀朗橋站旁，考量捷運開通後有轉乘需求，市府向國產署爭取土地代管，並闢建機車停車場，提供二一七個格位。
王聲威說，停車場啟用後，未來可提供捷運轉乘，鼓勵民眾使用大眾運輸，初期提供免費停車，待捷運通車後，將視停車情形研議是否收費管理。
王聲威指出，交通局一百年起在中和地區興建四處立體停車場，共增加八三二個小型車位及一四五個機車位，路邊增劃四五九○個機車停車格，並積極尋找尚未開發的土地，闢建平面停車場，舒緩當地停車需求。
