警方獲報趕抵後，隨即對程姓駕駛進行酒測，發現他酒測值為0，他初步向警方供稱，當時在停等紅燈，後來綠燈要起步時，未注意到走在斑馬線上正通過馬路的程婦才會發生碰撞，至於確切車禍事故原因，仍待警方進一步調查。
