新北市五股中興路三段，13日凌晨1時許發生火燒車事件，一名28歲的黃姓男子駕駛一台租賃的Mazda 3轎車，搭載妹妹行經該路段時車輛突然熄火，停靠路邊在發動後，引擎突然起火燃燒，黃男及妹妹嚇得逃出車外報案，警消趕抵後立刻拉水線撲滅，但引擎室已經燒得殘破不堪，所幸整起意外未造成人員傷亡。
黃姓駕駛向警消表示，當時開車開到一半，車輛突然熄火停靠路邊，等到再次發動時，引擎就開始竄煙燃燒，並無不當使用知情形；因車輛是租賃車，詳細的起火原因仍待調出保養紀錄後進一步釐清。
