鑒於淡金公路素來汽機車私自改裝排氣管盛行，製造噪音擾亂安寧，淡水警分局聯合新北市環保局、監理所人員進行不定期聯合稽查，於淡水區淡金路沿線已連續2週加強取締，並針對假日及夜間非法改裝、噪音擾人之車輛實施聯合稽查，2周內共計開出18張告發單，鐵腕執法要還給市民行車安全及居住安寧。
淡水分局交通組組長歐庭卲表示，車主不要任意改裝車輛排氣管，製造巨大噪音擾民安寧，以免遭到取締受罰；另外警方也會對機車排氣管上揚的翹管照相告發取締；排氣管尾端的出口，應低於車牌的下緣，避免廢氣直襲後面機車騎士的臉上，影響行車安全。
警方呼籲任何不當的改裝車體、電系設備，恐使安全結構減弱，影響行車安全，警方將不定期、不定點，針對轄區易發生事故路段執行聯合稽查，加強取締違法改裝車輛，防制車禍及噪音汙染，還給社會大眾行車安全及民眾的居住安寧。
