今下午4時51分桃園大潭電廠6部機組跳脫，因供電容量減少約400萬瓩，電力系統頻率瞬間降低，因而自動啟動低頻電驛的安全保護措施，造成全台多處停電。新北市府稍早表示，共計接獲37件電梯受困案，已緊急成立災變中心處理。
新北市府通知，受到台電大跳電影響，市多處號誌無法運作，已立即加派員警疏導，但仍會影響車流順暢，新北市影響停電區域為板橋、中和、土城、蘆洲、林口、樹林、三重、三峽、鶯歌、瑞芳區，本局119共計接獲37件電梯受困案，陸續均已排除，未造成人員傷亡，另已通報EOC、經發局等妥處。
新北市16家急救責任醫院，目前4家有停電狀況：
1.汐止國泰曾停電，目前已復電。
2.臺大金山醫院停電，發電機運作中。
3.瑞芳礦工醫院停電，發電機運作中。
4.亞東醫院停電，發電機運作中。
發電機皆可持續使用
