［記者彭健禮／苗栗報導］苗栗縣苑裡鎮玉田里玉豐五路與玉豐十路口，今天上午11點多，發生小客車與機車碰撞事故，機車騎士67歲朱姓老翁頭顱破裂，傷重送醫不治；警方初步了解，雙方都沒有酒駕，詳細原因仍待進一步調查。
警方調查，小客車駕駛吳姓男子，開車行駛玉豐五路，由北向南；朱姓老翁則騎機車行駛玉豐十路由西向東。2車在路口發生碰撞，老翁連人帶車撞上小客車的右前葉子板，機車反彈倒在一旁，老翁則滾落在小客車前方。
警方表示，處理員警現場對吳男進行酒精呼氣測試，吳男沒有喝酒；老翁經醫院抽血檢測，酒測值也為0。詳細車禍原因，仍待進一步調查釐清。
警方指出，苑裡鎮玉田里一帶，為農地重劃區，有許多路口，但沒有設立交通號誌，過去車禍頻仍，今天這起事故路口，也沒有紅綠燈，呼籲用路人行經路口，請放慢速度、小心行駛。
