〔記者蔡政珉／苗栗報導〕苗栗縣苑裡鎮公有市場今天清晨5點20分驚傳火警，數十間店鋪慘遭祝融，其中，位於為公路接近天下路許多小吃、早餐店都遭殃，其中知名的老店金光肉圓、茂焱肉圓也難逃一劫，讓不少民眾驚訝，老市場被燒了、老店以後要何去何從？
茂焱肉圓第二代陳煒智受訪時無奈地說，一切都太突然，目前還在忙著處理殘局，短時間內還沒想到後續要如何因應。至於苑裡知名的王家魚丸一度被傳出也被火勢波及，經求證後火勢並未延燒至王家魚丸店鋪。
由於苑裡公有市場為公路側靠近天下路一帶有許多店家，是當地居民從早到晚的採買熱點，其中的美好滋味讓民眾愛不絕口，延燒約300坪的火勢讓市場幾乎付之一炬，不少人也關心主政單位未來如何採取相應措施。
