〔記者鄭名翔／苗栗報導〕中山高速公路北上127公里苗栗頭屋段，今早9點多一輛小貨車疑似因天雨路滑，失控撞上內側護欄後翻車，車上4人受輕傷送往衛生福利部立苗栗醫院急救；而消防隊排除現場事故時，後方不遠處一輛大貨車與大客車又發生追撞，所幸無人員受傷，警方也呼籲雨天用路人請謹慎開車。
苗栗消防隊指出，現場為小貨車疑因打滑失控，擦撞護欄後翻車，42歲陳姓男子拋飛車外，頭部多處擦傷；21歲邱姓男子右手腕、腳踝疼痛；20歲黃姓男子上腹、右小腿疼痛；43歲陳姓男子左眼腫脹、雙肩疼痛，目前皆於苗栗醫院治療中。
國道警方表示，小貨車自撞翻車，詳細事故原因還有待釐清，事發後造成短暫回堵，約9點半排除；後方大貨車、大客車追撞則與前方事故無直接關聯。
