據臉書社團「通霄人(讚)出來」貼文，通宵今（27日）晨傳出一起竊案，一名女子將一輛白色轎車停在苗栗通霄鎮立泳池旁，早上被鄰居告知，4個輪子遭人竊走，希望附近有監視畫面的民眾能提供協助，目前已報警，待警方採集指紋。
這輛車款一直是台灣失竊率居高不下的一種車款，之前被逮獲的竊車集團成員向警方表示，此款車屬平價車，市佔率高，零件相對好脫手，所以才容易被選為偷車目標。據了解，竊車集團從竊車到拆解完畢，不會超過半個小時，多數被竊車輛或零件，會被裝進貨櫃銷往其他國家，以至於查緝相當困難。
