銅鑼杭菊盛開，18日銅鑼芋頭杭菊節登場（記者蔡政珉攝）
〔記者蔡政珉／苗栗報導〕苗栗縣銅鑼鄉是國內杭菊主要栽種地區，每年杭菊花開時分，金黃色與雪白色花海充分展現「數大便是美」的醉人景致，銅鑼鄉農會也規劃於18日在「九湖台地杭菊專業區」舉辦銅鑼芋頭杭菊節，歡迎遊客到銅鑼賞杭菊以及品嚐杭菊茶、芋頭等道地農產。
銅鑼鄉栽種杭菊歷史已經達50年，是國內最大杭菊產地，大多遍佈於鄉內九湖村周圍台地，因當地日夜溫差大，濕度較高且為紅棕色土壤，適合栽種杭菊，而每年雪白杭菊盛開的時候，地面宛如被初雪覆蓋一般，雪白花海讓人體驗到絕美感受。
另外，今年金黃色杭菊開花狀況頗佳，有些與雪白色杭菊黃白相間，有些金黃色杭菊獨立一片，已經吸引不少遊客前往參觀。不少遊客說，「這是近年來況最好的一次」，杭菊田裡隨處可見遊客與杭菊合影。
