受強烈東北風及輕度颱風卡努 外圍環流影響，中央氣象局於今天上午10點25分，發布陸上強風特報，指台南以北地區易有9至11級強陣風。
上午10點27分，苗栗市公所接獲玉清路與玉清街口全家便利超商旁的路燈桿傾倒通報，市公所公園路燈管理所人員到場，發現路燈桿由基座斷裂，橫躺在玉清路上，經初步檢視為舊式路燈桿，基座鏽蝕被強風吹倒。
