〔記者蔡政珉／苗栗報導〕苗栗縣泰安鄉30餘歲的廖姓女老師，今天中午1點多開車從泰安鄉中興村長橋2號橋往大湖國中方向行駛時，不慎掉落一旁山谷。該校柯姓教師因聯繫不上人，在路上攔下巡邏車求救，所幸警、消趕到現場時廖姓女教師意識清楚，消防人員爬下山谷後將人救起送醫。
消防人員表示，獲報時得知有人受困山谷，且位置不明確，所幸依靠當地救難人員對地形與地勢熟悉度，順利救人。警方則指出，初步研判廖姓女老師頸部及腰部受傷，由於廖姓女老師並無酒駕，警方判斷可能是道路濕滑導致，不過詳細原因仍需等廖姓女教師治療後才能確認。
