蔡適應服務處主任、市議員林明智指出，暖壽山步道在前市長張春熙任內設置，是賞桐景點之一，因涉及國有地及市有土地產權問題，步道三十年以來沒有修繕維護，鋪面老舊毀損，整體空間也缺乏妥善規劃，影響休憩品質。
他表示，環繞暖壽山的健行步道，從福興宮旁的金山街進入，步道兩側開滿油桐花，高處有座暖壽亭，步道通往暖暖金山寺，中間有一條岔路通往運動公園，是在地民眾晨運的步道。
暖暖里里長陳建興說，暖壽山步道歷史悠久，從清法戰爭時期就已存在，志工定期清理步道的雜草，與暖暖區公所配合維護工作。
