端午佳節將至，新竹市副市長沈慧虹率領市府官員，提前來到海巡署第八岸巡隊，慰問勞苦功高的岸巡隊，以及新竹地區的各單位官兵代表。沈慧虹指出，這次特別要頒贈感謝狀，給空軍第二戰術戰鬥機聯隊，與陸軍五八四旅，在最近的新竹市517水災中，大力協助救災與復原的工作。
海巡署的第八岸巡隊負責新竹市的港口防疫跟安檢任務，隊長李思賢指出，岸巡隊近期內最重要的工作就是防堵非洲豬瘟，避免大陸物品走私進來，而他也提醒民眾，如果發現不尋常的事情，可以通報案巡隊，軍民合作，一同保護台灣產業的安全。
沈副市長親手送上慰問金，而新竹地區的各單位代表也都派人出席，接受市府致贈的慰問金，小小的慰問金禮輕情意重，代表的是市府與民眾對國軍單位的無限感激。
