雲林縣黨部主委廖丁賜表示，沒有黨員登記的鄉鎮市，目前都已展開徵詢作業，多數鄉鎮市都有目標人選，明年鄉鎮市長選舉會足額提名，力爭贏得更多席次。
縣議員張健福與吳滄得轉換跑道，分別挑戰東勢鄉長與斗南鎮長。張健福表示，身為東勢鄉民，有義務為鄉政建設與鄉親的福祉貢獻一已之力，東勢鄉3年來幾乎沒有重大建設，所以他決定投入鄉長初選，爭取代表民進黨贏得東勢鄉長選戰。
尋求連任的林內鄉長張維崢、莿桐鄉長廖秋蓉下午4點多不約而同完成登記，他們都表示，這3年努力鄉政獲得鄉親肯定，有信心順利連任。
