雲林斗六到草嶺的公車終於復駛，因為921地震天搖地動後，山區道路中斷，也把公車震到停開，距離斗六50公里遠的雲林草嶺居民，生活大不便，連觀光發展也因此受限。

石壁社區發展協會理事長陳景立指出，「以前要去（草嶺）唯一交通車是計程車，計程車一趟要1200元，大家聽到1200元就不敢

草嶺位居雲林南投交界，海拔1000公尺，不只可遠眺玉山群峰，還能展望西部平原河川，加上石壁地區的天然景色跟竹林綠廊，深受登山客喜愛，為了不讓草嶺因為天災而鎖村，縣府協調台西客運與公路總局合作，把中斷20年的公車線重新接上線。

復駛的草嶺公車線，由於運量有限，採隨招隨停彈性服務，目前以每週三至週日共五天，每天往返四班次，視需求跟乘坐運量，再作後續調整。
