雲林縣「斗六大圳」是光復後第一個由國人自行設計興建的水利灌溉系統，灌溉大斗六地區一萬多公頃農田。斗六大圳今天（15日）展開今年度灌溉作業，雲林農田水利會依古禮舉辦「圳頭祭」，敬祭天地，祈求風調雨順，五穀豐收。
斗六大圳興建於民國36年，由當時「斗六農田水利會」謝堡丁會長主導，克服光復初期經濟力不足和政治紛擾等困難，打破當年崇拜日本人工程技術的迷思，在純國人組成的工程團隊努力下完成興建。取用濁水溪和清水溪水源，供灌大斗六地區一萬多公頃農田。
雲林農田水利會林文瑞會長表示，斗六大圳在這些年的增建後，總長度為28.5公里，每年輸送多達一億四千萬噸的農業用水。舉辦「圳頭祭」是要以虔誠謙卑的心，祈求通水順利，讓農民用水無虞，農作豐收。
