〔記者詹士弘／雲林報導〕警察不只會抓壞人，更是人民的褓母；斗六派出所警員謝智宇、莊鎮隆執行巡邏勤務時，接獲客運公司來電，稱有個行動不便的老翁，趕著要去火車站搭車，但天雨路滑，希望警方能協助，員警立即馳援，上演一場雨中接送情。
70歲老翁搭乘日統客運車至斗六市大同路總站下車後，先由站內人員先行攙扶入內休息，老翁先表示要趕著至斗六火車站搭火車，但外頭下著大雨，老翁拄著拐杖行動相當不便，站務人員擔心老翁危險，一面勸阻一面請警方到場協助。
警方到場後，立即將老翁攙扶至警車，載送至斗六火車站後，一路攙扶老翁確認其平安上車後，始放心離開，此一善舉被民眾錄下PO於網路，也讓網友大讚「暖心斗六警！」。
