20日晚間9點多，太平警分局太平派出所警員楊鎮隆、洪嘉澤巡經中平九街超商，接到值班通報員警通報，請求協尋一名走失老翁，並上傳協尋照片及相關年籍資料。
兩名員警發現，店內角落坐著一名老爺爺，長相跟通報的協尋人口很像，立即上前關懷，高齡90歲的老爺爺看到自己的照片，隨口說出：「這不是我嗎？」。
員警立即通知家屬，而家屬還在派出所，一聽到尋獲消息，急忙將老翁接回家。
周姓老翁兒子說，傍晚晚餐前，還看到父親還在門外散步，不料竟忽然不見，從未發生這種情形，嚇壞了家人，以後會注意父親生活起居，非常感謝員警協助。
