〔記者張軒哲／台中報導〕花博結束後，后里火車站東站前轉乘廣場仍欠缺規劃、晚上路燈不亮、周邊雜草叢生、野狗群聚，通勤學童安全堪慮。立委洪慈庸二十日表示，新設的后里火車站東站，現在恐淪為治安死角，她質疑，台中市府與市長盧秀燕，「連個火車站前廣場都無力治理，該如何辦好明年台灣燈會？」
洪慈庸指出，后里東站最初設定為客運接駁、iBike自行車、火車轉乘等出口，是連結花博后里雙園區的重要轉乘位置。花博活動結束後，新市府在后里東站設立812、813公車，行經至豐原、大甲區，許多通勤學生搭乘，但晚上太暗找不到站牌。
交通局表示，針對后里東站路燈不亮、周邊雜草叢生、野狗群聚，已請廠商設定照明燈光定時器、定期協助清理雜草，並在候車處加裝歐式帳篷，以提高夜間公車行駛視線與民眾通勤安全。
